What is computer vision?

Computer vision is really the study of visual data.

Why do we have to study this field?

The amount of visual data in our world has exploded to a ridiculous degree.

And, this is largely a result of the large number of sensors in the wolrd.

So, it’s critical that we develop algorithms that can utilize and understand this data.

But it’s hard to understand the visual data.

It’s very difficult for algorithms to actually go in and understand and see what exactly is comprising all the visual data on the web.

So It’s crucial that we develop technologies that can dive in and automatically understand the content of visual data.
